Why Osun Pensioners Can’t Complain – Aregbesola.
Osun state Governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola yesterday said pensioners had no cause to curry unnecessary sympathy for themselves as they had just received accumulated four months arrears of pension.
The governor made the assertion at an investiture and award ceremony where members of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Osun Chapter made him their Grand Patron in Osogbo.
Aregbesola said: “Apart from Lagos State, no state has paid such amount as the nation is just going through a special period.
“Alhough government owed them gratuity which will be paid when the economy improves, my administration should be commended with the four months of pensions cleared.
“It was very funny and shameful when some people said they are pensioners and that they are displaced in their own territory. They can never say they are protesting because of money or unpaid arrears.
