APC absolves self from Kogi Assembly crisis

Gombe APC alleges INEC reluctant to comply with Tribunal orderThe Kogi State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, on Sunday distant itself from the ongoing leadership wrangling at the state House of Assembly.
Disclosing this in Abuja, the Chairman of the state chapter of the party, Alhaji Haddy Ametuo, warned political detractors to desist from dragging the party into the business of legislation.
Ametuo said the APC was currently pre-occupied with preparations on how to give the state purposeful leadership when the governor-elect, Yahaya Bello is sworn in on January 27.
He said, “As far as we are concerned, we have no interest or hand in the crisis in the House of Assembly, afterall PDP even has the majority.
“So, our political detractors should not link us with their actions or inactions. Also, rather than linking the governor-elect, Alhaji Yahaya Bello to their inability to manage the House, we urge them to look inwards and search their cupboards.
“I also enjoin the people of the state to be law-abiding. Security operatives are on alert to pick anyone who foments ‎trouble. Traditional masquerades would not also be allowed anywhere near the event. We must all conduct and comport ourselves accordingly.”
The Chairman, while warning Kogi Central Senatorial District against fuelling disunity through immodest celebration of the victory, explained that Bello’s victory was not only a victory for the party and the Senatorial district where he hails from but for the whole of the state.
