Work For The Progress of our State not destroying It - Indigene warns Osun Elites

POSTED BY ADEPOJU ADEYEMI

Osun Elites should work for the State and not to destroy It, with their hatred for Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola

From all indications, socially, morally and politically, it has appeared that most Elites in the State of Osun are not working for the progress of the State but are strongly working to destroy the State with rumours and actions. There are many reasons to this fact. All Productive Societies exist with a sole aim of moving  forward at all time and stakeholders of such society have their role to play in growth and development. If the roles are positively played, societal growth will definitely go beyond our expectations.

It is never a news anymore that Nigeria as a nation is facing economic crisis, which 26 out of 36 States of the federation are financially crippled including Federal Government. The facts are out there for all of us that cared to know why Nigerian economy slipped into dungeon. Factors that drove Nigeria to this unsaved region includes reported cases of oil theft from Niger Delta Region, uncontrollable corruption, crashing of oil prices in the global market amongst others. Why should we pretend we do not know why we are in this mess. If all these could have thrive successfully on Nigerian coffers.

Recall, when oil was $140 per barrel, the federal government under the watch of PDP neither invested the excess on the oil sold on infrastructures nor have excess reserves to battle situation like this. Unfortunately, Crude Oil Price falls to nothing now, around $26 per barrel and our people still expecting the same economic benefits as it was before, how possible is that? Had it been the past administration invested excesses on oil proceeds then, at this time it will could be withdrawn to rescue the system from economic recession.

Glory be to God, those that are reasonable have seen all the revelations in town now about how Nigerian confers were being squandered by the PDP led government. The most shameful part of this is that these evil doers still have propagandists amidst us to defend such pathetic and corrupt practices that has affected many states across the federation to go bankrupt and some not buoyant to meet their obligations. According to the report of expert, nearly all states except Lagos, Kano and some few states are not that affected based on the capability to generate bogus (IGR) Internally Generated Revenue. Lagos State that used to get around N6 Billion as monthly allocation from federation account is now receiving not up to N3 Billion, this is so ridiculous. Even Oil Producing States like Akwa Ibom, River, Bayelsa, Ondo amongst others are affected, not to talk of States like Osun, Oyo, Ekiti, Kwara, Kogi and so on. Ogun is not badly affected for it generates more IGR locally from most manufacturing companies in the state.

If these were not so, why would 27 states in Nigeria solicits for bailout fund from Federal Government? Regarding unknown part of the bailout fund by average Nigerians was that the affected requested for the fund in June 2015 which simply means the fund was meant for the state to offset it outstanding till June 2015 which the State of Osun was not exempted. Osun explored its bailout and paid its workers full Salary till June as expected. Any reasonable and sincere worker will testify to that.

As a Manager, Governor Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola applied his Managerial Senses, by calling the Union Leaders in the State, to have a Memorandum of Understanding pending the time federal government and States will get over this unconditional mess. In this agreement, they concluded that whatever accrued to the state's purse (allocation and IGR) will be shared amongst workers. Unfortunately, no one strictly knew that federal monthly stipends to state will continue to crash till this end as at the time the Agreement was signed. Since then, State Government has been meeting the Obligation, by paying full worker's salary from level 1 to 7 and 50% of salaries of level 8 to 17 workers, the state government only left with December Salary. If this system wasn't adopted our workers will still be suffering from non payment of four months backlog by the state government.

However, nothing less than 15 states yet to relieved it wage bills as we speak now. Kwara State government is owing its lecturers at least 8 months, Kogi State is owing around the same amount, Ondo and Ekiti are not left out. Even Kwara has been paying half salary as we speak. Cross River has with half payment since last year and Plateau State still owing 8 months worker's salaries. so, why all the noises about the State of Osun and Governor Aregbesola? All of us should look at the cause of the problem instead of the problem itself if truly we intend to get out of the hook.

Urging the good people of the state to disregard all distractions and rants from wailing wailers in town were nothing but the handiwork of those who were not giving the opportunity to misappropriated the state resources and wanted to create disaffection at all cost. They are painting the Governor unwarranted paint, without reflecting on the genesis of this challenge and its overall effect on all states if the federation. While others are praying and hoping for good in their states, some elites of Osun wanted the state tore apart. Why?

Let me tell you this, if the State get tore you and I will not be left out, even the coming generation will feel the heat as well. It's better to support Ogbeni's government and let the development he started continues.

Say good side of this government, stop condemning the governor, stop the destruction because it might not be useful at this time, but surely with good intention, it will come to limelight in future. Other states too are facing same challenges but they keep distance themselves from blackmailing their government. Tell your People to pay tax, fees, levies and fines for this is what we need now for the betterment of the state, rather than wanting Governor Rauf Aregbesola trapped and feel not concerned. It is in the development of our States that we can enjoy and live for better.

The Elites used their destructive noises to send Akande's Government out of Office, but later wished for his return after the evil deed has been executed by PDP government. The same half-baked elites are at it again. Let us be careful and appreciate good innovative of this present administration, it is for our growth and development. If the development done by Akande's government had continued, Osun must have become a model now. This man, Governor Aregbesola has started his own good will but circumstances beyond him caused this mess and we all knew the circumstances. We should give peace chance and let us grow.

I won't stop without penning the bad eggs Governor Aregbesola's cabinet praying for his downfall, these shouldn't be.  What should be expected of us should success of the state disregarding personal hatred you may have for Aregbesola. If you are there, you may not be able to do half of what he had done. He needs some encouragement. His success will directly have effect on every indigene of the state. Let us know that perfection is for our God, one cannot do it alone with no hitches. Osun adara o.....

Thanks to you all
God bless Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola,
God bless Osun people.
